National Park Isalo is the silo of biodiversity of the Great Southern Madagascar. Birds, reptiles, amphibians, lemurs, Aloe, Euphorbia, Pachypodium etc ... nature is particularly generous in this part of Madagascar, despite the rather dry landscape.

The Isalo is part of the Commune of Ranohira in the region of Ihorombe. It is 279 km south of Fianarantsoa, and 80 km from Ihosy. The park, crisscrossed by rivers and their tributaries, extends over 81 540 ha. This massive ruiniform is a continental shelf of sandstone from the Jurassic. Heavily eroded, broken up only by the witnesses sandy valleys and canyons have been a truly exceptional performance.
